About Crista Tharp - Event Planner

First of all, you should know, I LOVE what I do.  I get to celebrate moments with people that will be remembered for a lifetime.  This could be said not just about the cute couple that finally says, “I Do” in front of their adoring family, but also about the grand opening for new business owners whose employees pull together to help start a new creation off with a big successful BANG!

I came from a family that taught hospitality like they taught love; consistently and abundantly.  When asked why I do what I do, this is what I tell them, “My family lives it – it’s in my blood.”  My parents know how to throw a party - I have learned from the best, but boy are they surprised by the path I’ve taken!  Keep reading and you’ll see why.

I graduated Indiana University with a Voice Musical Theater degree.  Theater was my life - I was a great performer and loved the directing aspect of theater.  Actually, I was really good at directing but never thought I would actually use it.  Hmmm…

One month and 22 days after graduating, I married my incredibly handsome High School sweetheart, Chad.  I’m not quite sure what really happened after that – it seems like a blur, but my husband and I had baby after baby.  The final count, at least currently, is eight kids - all under 11 years old.

Once I started planning and coordinating events, I never looked back.  With over 7 years in the event industry, I am well educated and well connected.  I have great relationships with local vendors and you can be confident that I have the expertise to guide you through what could be a very costly and overwhelming experience.  In fact, I have even created a successful Wedding Planning Kit specifically for Brides who either want to plan their weddings themselves or cannot afford to hire a wedding planner.

I take my business very seriously.  If you trust me with your event, please be assured that I will do everything possible to exceed your expectations.  I am well-known for creating events that bring out the personality of my client and for going out of my way to make things happen.  I firmly believe that a coordinator’s job is to enhance all of the other vendors that you have chosen to assist you with your event, not to bark orders or rule with an iron fist.

I would love the chance to work with you!
